Schuinboorders

Nu het teveel aan stikstof enigszins is gaan liggen wordt het tijd om de messen te slijpen.
Rutte en zijn helpers luisteren aandachtig naar boeren, bouwers en automobilisten.
Een gesprek met de zwaargehavende natuur- en milieubeweging verloopt kennelijk alleen via de rechter.
Zwaargehavend omdat het de natuur en het milieu is dat zwaar beschadigd is door een jarenlang bewust beleid van verwaarlozing. De omkering die nu plaatsvindt is werkelijk ongekend. De dader wordt slachtoffer en het slachtoffer is schuldig, want ze is te veel aanwezig.
Verkrachters mentaliteit.
Duizenden rapporten, proefschriften en wetenschappelijke artikelen, al gepubliceerd sinds de jaren 80 beschreven de aperte domheid van het expansieve landbouwbeleid, het verkrampte natuurbeleid en het toestaan van gevaarlijke stoffen.
De boeren, bouwers en automobilisten, willen die materie niet lezen er dachten met een ongelooflijke koppigheid, er wel bij te varen, totdat rupsenplagen, verhongerende, in een veld opgesloten edelherten, de varkenspest, Q-koorts, verdroging van het hoogveen, hitterecords en afgelaste Elfstedentochten hun erop wezen dat het allemaal toch wel heel erg schraal wordt in dit land.
Een schattig meisje uit Zweden probeert inmiddels onze pubers te mobiliseren, door de VN geaccrediteerde wetenschappers brengen verontrustende rapporten uit over verdwijnende biodiversiteit, snellere afkalving van het poolijs en een serie bos- en oerwoud branden in Afrika, Zuid-Amerika, Portugal, Californië en Siberië die zijn weerga niet kent kunnen we allemaal volgen via de Satelliet.
De ongelooflijke lompheid om in een dergelijke wereld voor te stellen om natuurgebieden om te schoffelen tot buitenwijken, akkers, stallen, distributiecentra of zelfs windmolenparken impliceert dat natuur en milieu en dit volk nog steeds in een vechtscheiding liggen.
Wat begrijpt een nooit wetenschap lezende politicus nu helemaal van het belang van een natuurgebied? Hoe groot of hoe klein deze ook mag zijn. Alsof het voor een vlinder of vleermuis van belang is dat een natuurgebied groot is.
Grenzen zijn er om niet overschreden te worden, maar dat vinden we o zo moeilijk, zelfs gasboren deden we schuin onder de Waddenzee. Dan gold het niet. Dank je de koekoek, het Wad daalt evengoed bij schuin boren. Schuinboren is eigenlijk de beste metafoor van het beschamende typisch Nederlandse gedrag.
Ik weet inmiddels niet meer hoe dit tij te keren is. Beatrix zou tijdens een kersttoespraak zichzelf wat vrijheid toekennen om het onverantwoordelijk gedrag van te veel Nederlanders op de hak te nemen. Helaas voor Alexander is Asperger niet besmettelijk.
De lieve man houdt te veel van pleasen, wellicht kunnen zijn dochters nog wat betekenen. Ik zet mijn kaarten op Alexia.
Midas Dekkers en Jan Terlouw zullen vast nog een roman schrijven waardoor het lezende deel van natie nog wat troost en verbinding vindt.
Onze kerken, synagogen en moskeeën lezen de overgebleven gelovigen geenszins de les en beperken zich tot identiteit geneuzel.
Werkgever-organisaties dienen schadeclaims in omdat ze de natuur niet verder mogen slopen.
Treurige termen als drammer zetten mensen die kunnen observeren in de hoek.
Rutte geeft niet thuis en doet depressief over rotmaatregelen die het aantal ongelukken verminderen en de automobilisten een Miljard besparen aan niet gekochte benzine.
We zien elkaar in de rechtbank. Schat.

Responsibility

Imagine two brothers, one a small boy and the other almost a full grown man. If parents send these kids to school they expect the oldest brother to protect the younger one, even without explicitly mentioning this. Strength implies responsibility, even if the older brother lives through some frustrations due to a failed exam, a girl who rejected his advances or a lost football match. Frustrations in life do not free one from responsibility, and the protection of the younger brother must be given at all moments and everywhere along the route to adulthood of the kid. When countries are more populous, have more resources or are geographically easier to defend, the analogy remains valid. The USA, lying on a separate continent, with apart from Cuba, only allied neighbours, having tons of resources and an energetic young immigrant based population can be seen as a young adult. With the fire still raging we can see the discussion on the cause already flaming with the same intensity. This is strange. Normally after a disaster we sympathise with the dead, the people who lost loved ones and those who lost houses and other property. The last three years we start to omit this habit, and even when the disaster is striking discussions on the cause, the effectiveness of the authorities engulf our moment of mourning and empathy. This is wrong, simply because the cause of a disaster is almost always compound and complex and in the emergency phase we need all our focus on the emergency, working on who and what can be saved. Firemen were discredited while risking their lives, mayors held accountable for not interrupting foreign trips and the sexual preferences of professionals put in the open as if is relevant for their functioning.
